Mr .Philip Simmons visiting me in my booth at a show in Charleston, SC.

The Grille in the west wall of the Philip Simmons Heart Garden, located at St. John's Reformed Episcopal Church, is entitled "The
Peninsula". The wavy lines represent the Ashley and Cooper rivers that flow around the city with a fish swimming up stream (at the top of the piece). There are two Charleston single houses, a heart ((upside down representing Charleston) has a star in the center.

The Double Heart Gate is at the entrance to the Simmons Garden from Menotti Street. This garden is one of Charleston's secret gardens and is the only topiary garden in the city.
